Yard Fresh Pt. 10
March 1st, 2011I love these Yard Fresh installments because no matter what the season is we’re always cooking/eating well in Portland. It’s a testament to this city, our garden, our kitchen and all of the productive and delicious surrounding farm land.
Speaking of delicious homemade food — I’m really looking forward to a package that’s due to arrive by mail any day now that contains Harriet Fasenfest and Zach Powers’ DVD Preserving with Friends. I’ll be sure to post more about it here in upcoming weeks since I’ve been looking forward to checking it out for months. Looks like it’s due to arrive in stores in the next couple weeks. Yahoo!
What’s something delicious that you’ve cooked lately? I’d love to hear about it here…

I made this pizza with spicy Italian sausage, ribboned kale, castelvetrano olives and lots of minced garlic and serrano.

I would love to hear more about this miso-meyer lemon dressing!

It’s super easy Devlyn. Put a couple tablespoons of miso (I use various Jorinji misos — for this the red), the juice of half a Meyer lemon (or juice of whole other variety of lemon or lime), 1/3 cup or so of oil, salt and pepper and sometimes a little water in a small jar. Mash the miso with a fork a bit to break it up in the jar then put the lid on the jar and shake the hell out of it. Delicious. Your turn — dressing recipe share?
